Triangular Weirs Flow Formula and Calculator

Triangular weirs (V-notch weirs) should be used when small flow rates are to be measured. The flow coefficient over a triangular weir depends on the notch angle, θ, but generally varies from 0.58 to 0.61. For a 90° weir, C2 ≈ 0.593. (See Fig. 1.)

H = height of water (m)
θ = angle in degrees
