ISO 3448 Viscosity Grade Table
The ISO viscosity grade (VG) as specified in ISO 3448, is commonly used to classify oils. (See Table 1) Viscosity at 10°F (40°C), the approximate temperature of machinery, in centistokes (same as mm2/s), is used as the index. Each subsequent viscosity grade within the classification has approximately a 50% higher viscosity, whereas the minimum and maximum values of each grade range ±10% from the midpoint.
